Inn

Greendown Inn, set in the village of St Brides-super-Ely, in the Vale of Glamorgan, was voted the best Cider Pub of the Year by the Vale of Glamorgan branch.

The pub, which is run by Andrew Quick and his family, features both a cider and a perry served from a hand pump at the bar. Situated just outside Cardiff, the pub seems a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

"It's fantastic that we've won," said Andrew, who has had the pub for 15 years.

"I knew we were shortlisted but I didn't know we had won. We were in Camra's guide for the first time last year so to win is great."

"We started serving a Welsh cider and then we switched to a nice cider maker based in north Somerset which goes down very well with our customers, particularly the pear cider."

"We always try and have two ciders on as well as the pear perry."
