I think it is a grand approach to genealogy and history to assume a parish and try to get as much information as possible, assembling families, and putting it on-line. And the associated links are most useful as well. Congratulations and thanks!
For example, I'm pleased this morning to find out that the name Rhydderch (Retherch in the registers) was being used in the late 1500's and 1600's in Llanbadog Parish, preceding ours in Llantrisant and Pentyrch, but perhaps associated, because this old given name is rare in Wales.
But what really thrilled me was to find in the 1881 census of St. Bride's our own Mary Roderick (daughter of John Roderick, the son of David Roderick, the son of Richard Roderick, the son of Evan Roderick, the son of Rhydderch Evan, the son of Evan) age 24, a domestic servant, b. Peterston-super-Ely. I have record of her marrying in St. Bride's Parish Church in 1886 Jonathan WILLIAMS, son of William Williams.
Because Mary married a man with the so very common name Williams, I had about given up a chance of finding anything further about them. BUT, from the 1891 census of SBSE which you show, we find them (the specifics show they are the same family), and we now know about her own children, which include David Williams, age 3; Oliver Williams, age 2; and Elvina(?) [your question mark] Williams, age 2 months. Jonathan Williams' no-doubt brother, William Williams, and their mother, Jane, are living together in St. Bride's. Brother William appears again in the 1901 census there without his mother. But, too bad, Jonathan and Mary (Roderick) Williams and their children are off somewhere else by 1901. Now we are getting down into modern times, where people might remember this family, and it would be great to find descendants of Jonathan and Mary for our Roderick history.
You made my day! Thanks again.

Just wanted to let you know that I thoroughly enjoyed my trip through Glamorgan, afforded to me through your web site. I, too, am Welsh at heart ~ now living in Southern California. Thank you for making my day.

Our Henry Radcliffe was living at Alexandra Road, Peterston when the 1891 census was taken. Also in 1901 but it states the parish as Llangeinor then. Whether Samuel who lived in St Brides is related I still don't know, and at the moment the research is taking a back seat due to other commitments. I do appreciate the information which you have given me, so thank you very much. Henry's daughter Elizabeth eventually married and went to live in Bryn in between Port Talbot and Maesteg, but I haven't yet followed up on her siblings.

A major segment of our family came from Pendoylan, all moving away and scattered around the globe now.
I was fascinated by your in depth study of St. Brides-super-Ely. &nbps; It is an important exercise for research purposes and one that must be very intellectually satisfying. Congratulations. I will look forward to your publication when it is ready.

My great x3 grandfather, Evan John, and my wife's great x3 Grandfather, Richard Mathews, farmed at various times at SBSE, St Fagans, St George S Ely, and Pendoylan. I will keep an eye out for the Evan family as there are some in my family from Pendoylan which again is very near. Best wishes to you and be in touch soon. Regards John
P. S. -- Just checked, I have John Evans born 1788 at St Fagans great x4 Grandfather and his daughter Mary Evans born 1826 St Fagans Great x3 Grandmother.
